Anne Rice

HorrorSupernatural horrorGothic horror

Anne Rice reinvented the vampire novel. Interview with the Vampire is told by Louis, made a vampire in eighteenth-century Louisiana by the charismatic Lestat, who goes on to narrate most of the Vampire Chronicles himself. The Mayfair Witches follow a New Orleans family of witches.

Best estimate, compiled from series guides, publisher descriptions and reviews where available, and from memory otherwise. Book level only, not chapter level. Minor includes cameos and brief references. Each book carries a confidence rating in its tooltip. Later books such as Merrick and Blood Canticle bring the vampires and the Mayfair witches together.
