The story
- How they might meet
- Reacher is hitching across the Mojave when he crosses paths with a man in dark glasses tracking the same people he is.
- Why they would work
- Two former soldiers of very few words, with absolute loyalty to the people they protect.
- What each brings
- Pike brings tactical precision, weapons expertise and a network of private military contacts. Reacher brings investigative instinct and the habit of always being one move ahead.
- Where they would clash
- Neither likes to take orders and neither talks much, so the hardest part would be deciding who leads.
