The Hollow sends Harry Bosch back to his childhood
Michael Connelly’s new Harry Bosch novel, The Hollow, returns to the children’s centre where Bosch lived after his mother’s murder.
Harry Bosch is back in The Hollow, published in the United States and Canada on 27 October 2026. In the UK and Ireland the ebook and audiobook are out now, and the hardback follows on 5 November.
After his mother was murdered, a young Bosch was sent to the MacLaren Children’s Center in Los Angeles. A legal settlement involving former residents, which he hears about from his half-brother Mickey Haller, brings that time back. Bosch begins to look again at the death of another boy, known as Chops, which he has long believed was covered up.
It is one of the most personal Bosch novels so far, and it draws on a part of his life that readers have known about since the very first book, The Black Echo.
Bosch and Haller have shared several novels. Our Michael Connelly crossovers list shows where the two series meet, and The Lincoln Lawyer’s final season adapts one of them.
